Up Next Music Fest Miami Concert reviews
Orzabel is genius
The opening act by Wainwright as backup vocal was good, but went on too long. The soundguys should be sacked for the horrible sound balance between drums, guitars, and vocals. The drummer stole the show by banging out more noise than anyone else. The recheck time between opening and main act was ridiculously long, with no urgency to get on with the show. Orzabel and Smith can play and sing, moving the audience with their music. Had I not been familiar with TFF songs, I wouldn't have understood what Roland/Curt were singing most of the time. The keyboard guy was average at best and off-key many times. The concert was not up to TFF shows of the past, lacking consummate musicians and high-quality sound. Still, seeing Roland and Curt in person was a rare and royal treat. 'Up Next Music Fest' is still marvelous.
